State, Regional & Local Taxes

🇿🇼 ZimbabweLocal Authority Taxes

Zimbabwe's 10 provinces and urban/rural councils levy local government taxes including rates on immovable property (based on improved or site value), council fees, and local levies for services. Harare, Bulawayo, and other urban councils have the highest property rate tariffs. The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) administers national taxes. Zimbabwe has experienced hyperinflation (2007–2009 destroyed the ZWD; ZWL introduced 2019; ZiG introduced 2024). Tax collection is complicated by currency instability and dollarization.

🇧🇧 BarbadosParish Councils & Land Tax

Barbados's 11 parishes have parish councils that levy land tax at 0.1%–0.7% of site value. Barbados has long been a significant international business and financial centre, particularly for Canadian companies. Major tax reform in 2019 aligned Barbados with OECD BEPS standards. A tiered corporate tax rate structure was introduced. Barbados was removed from the EU tax haven blacklist following these reforms and maintains competitiveness as an IFC.
